Water Quality

Priority will be given to Engineering First Year students living in the Engineering Village, and to students in the College of Engineering

For over 20 years El Porvenir has been combating poor living conditions for the people of Nicaragua in order to develop sustainable water and sanitation sources. CSLEPS has been partnering with El Porvenir, and now has made it possible for Engineering First Year students to become involved (through partnering with the College of Engineering and University Housing) on an ASB trip in which NC State students will be working beside Nicaraguan villagers to build water projects in the rural hillsides of the country.

Along with the physical aspect of this trip, there will also be a learning focus designed to immerse you into the society, history, and politics of Nicaragua to better understand the issue of water quality in a regional and global perspective.
